The Boston Celtics Might Have The Best Trio In The NBA
ESPN recently ranked Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White as the best trio
This season is proving challenging for many Big Threes in the NBA, as it was last year. The reasons for the struggle vary, but most of it is due to injuries inflicting the hardships. However, some trios are managing quite well.
On Thursday, a report went viral stating that ESPN has ranked the Boston Celtics’ trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White as the best Big Three in the league.
Though the season only begun, a great case could be made for that ranking. Following their successful campaign last season, the Celtics kept most of the roster together. Right now, they are currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 13-3 record, just behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While the Celtics got a lot of production from their entire roster, Tatum, Brown, and White have carried most of the load.
After a controversial offseason, Tatum is leading the team with averages of 29.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.4 steals, and 4.1 3-pointers. He already recorded a total of nine games with 30 or more points, including three straight from Nov. 6 to Nov. 10. However, his highlight of the season took place on Nov. 16 when he hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to take an overtime win against the Toronto Raptors.
Brown and White, like Tatum, are ensuring they contribute in different ways.
After winning Finals MVP last year, Brown is averaging 25.3 points, a career-high 7.1 rebounds, a career-high 4.4 assists, and 1.0 steals. As for White, he is making his presence known on both offense and defense. He is currently logging averages of 18.4 points, a career-high 4.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and a team-best 1.1 blocks. He is also shooting 3-pointers at a great clip, averaging a career-high 3.7 3-pointers on 40.4% shooting.
If this trio can continue to put together wonderful performances, the Celtics could be in for another championship run.
