Stephen Curry Can Still Have More Success In His Career
Lou Williams believes the Golden State Warriors' point guard has more left in his tank
The NBA has seen many great players reach the end of their prime. However, some still perform at a high level later in their careers, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James being the latest example.
On a recent episode of FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, Lou Williams said Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry could be another player who extends their prime.
“We’re going to witness Steph Curry in the same way that we possibly can see a LeBron [James] go deep into his 30s and still have success.” - Lou Williams
Throughout his illustrious career, Curry established himself as one of the greatest players in history.
During his 16-year career, he averaged 24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.5 steals. He led the league in scoring twice (2016 and 2021) and led in steals in 2016. He also became one of the greatest shooters ever, completing 42.3% of his 3-pointers.
Curry’s numbers aren’t the only impressive aspect of his career. Along with being a four-time champion, he is a two-time MVP who made the All-Star team 11 times and the All-NBA team 10 times. He also won the Clutch Player of the Year award in 2024.
Curry isn’t slowing down anytime soon
Although this season was challenging for the Warriors, Curry still dominated.
Despite being 36 years old, he averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and a league-high 4.4 3-pointers. He also had many high-scoring games, including two where he scored 50-plus points.
When the playoffs arrived, Curry continued to perform at a high level. Before suffering a hamstring injury, he averaged 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.0 steals.
Curry might be starting to exit his prime. However, even considering that, there’s a great chance he can still be in the league for a while longer.
