Paul Pressey Was The Milwaukee Bucks' Most Underrated Player
Paul Pressey was an incredible threat for the Milwaukee Bucks
It’s been 17 years since the Milwaukee Bucks starting getting deep in the playoffs. They have made it past the first round for the past four years.
During the 55 years in the NBA, they have featured players such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Ray Allen, Sidney Moncrief, and even current superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
But the one player that never gets talked about enough is shooting guard Paul Pressey.
Drafted as the 20th pick in the 1982 NBA Draft, Pressey was a dynamic threat for the Bucks. He averaged double-figures in points in six of the eight years he spent in Milwaukee. His Bucks totals: 11.9 points and 5.6 assists a game. In the 1985 playoffs, Pressey helped the Bucks advance past the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls in the first round. In the decided Game 4, Pressey recorded 20 points, six rebounds, four assists, and six steals.
Pressey assisted the Bucks in making the playoffs seven times while he was there. In the postseason, he averaged 12 points, five assists, and one steal.
On Aug. 1, 1990, Pressey was traded to the San Antonio Spurs for Frank Brickowski. He is the Bucks’ second all-time leader in assists (3,272) and second all-time leader in steals (894).
Pressey played 18 games with the Golden State Warriors in 1993 before retiring due to injuries.
