Markieff Morris Said Nikola Jokic’s “Sucker Shot” Didn’t Cause Much Pain Or Injury
It was the Miami Heat’s choice to keep Markieff Morris sidelined for 58 games
On Nov. 8, 2021, Heat forward Markieff Morris bumped into Jokic while he was coming up the court. As a result, Jokic ran behind him and pushed him down. After a minor altercation between both teams, Jokic and Morris were ejected. The next day, it was announced Jokic was suspended for one game without pay while Morris missed significant time.
During a recent episode of Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes’ All The Smoke podcast, Morris talked about the incident and said it was the Heat’s choice to keep him out for that long.
“So the shot was, it was a little hard,” Morris said. “It was like a little whiplash. So I mean, to be 350, catching me off guard, it really ain’t do s–t. But you know, at the time, I was a little off. It was so more with the Miami Heat. They was just trying to protect me from, you know, against me from myself. But I was cleared to play like two weeks after that. They just held me out. So it really wasn’t one of those things where I was injured or in pain or anything like that. Took a sucker shot. It’s like when you get, they call it a snuck. He snuck me, yeah. It was a sucker shot.”
Without a doubt, the Heat took the incident personally. After the game, a picture went viral of several Heat players standing outside the Nuggets’ locker room looking for Jokic.
Even though the feelings didn’t linger into last season’s Finals, Morris still carries it with him, and rightfully so.

Way to reinvent history...smdh
Morris didn't "bump into" Jokic...he targeted his knee and threw an elbow at his ribs, and then tried to walk away like it was nothing but an ordinary take foul. People don't get ejected for ordinary take fouls btw. The Morris bros are cheap shot, big talking enforcers that epitomize what is wrong with this league. Like Shaq, Barkley, and every other ex-player said...you don't attack a person and then turn your back and walk away.
Jokic reacted like he did because Morris led with his knee to Jokic's knee and threw an elbow out of frustration that he couldn't stop Jokic legally. If he doesn't turn his back there would have been a fist fight and both guys suspended for multiple games. Morris, like his brother and a few of the Heat are just loud mouth posers (see Morris backing down to Jokic bros to respect his mamma...lol...and the scripted pic where the Miami posers are held back by their over-weight PR guy lol)
These comments are just Morris trying to continue his fake tough guy act and trying to spin his attack as him being a victim. Shame on you for enabling him!
