LeBron James Dominated The League In 2018
James recorded had clutch moments in 2018, including in the playoffs
It’s no secret Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is one of the most dominating NBA players of all-time.
But with so many years behind him, a lot of pundits debate which version of him was better. Though most believe his tenure with the Miami Heat was the best, his second run with the Cleveland Cavaliers deserves recognition.
On Oct. 29, a video went viral of Theo Pinson and AJ Richardson’s podcast Run Your Race. In the video, Pinson explained why 2018 was one of James’ best years.
“He played Toronto [in the playoffs],” Pinson said. “He destroyed the organization. In all honesty, Toronto should thank Bron for what he did because then Kawhi came. It all honesty.”
2018 was definitely a memorable year for James. Not only did he average 27 points but it was also a year with multiple clutch moments and game-winners.
The most impressive one was against the Toronto Raptors.
With the Cavaliers holding a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, James was determined to make sure the Raptors didn’t make it interesting. With the clock going down and the game tied at 103, James raced up the court and hit a game-winning floater over OG Anunoby.
James always seemed to have the Raptors’ number but that year might’ve been the nail in the coffin. During the offseason, the Raptors acquired Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs and won their first championship in 2019.
It may be a different debate of if James was the reason why they grabbed Leonard. But regardless, he always had the upper hand against Toronto.
