Dwyane Wade Says Jimmy Butler is Miami Heat's Next Hall Of Fame Inductee
Dwyane Wade said Jimmy Butler could be the next Marquette player inducted into the Hall of Fame
But during his 2023 Hall of Fame press conference on Friday, he made it clear he won’t be the last.
“I’m the first but hope I’m not the last, honestly,” Wade said. “And I know I won’t be because Jimmy Butler went to Marquette so I know I won’t be the last.”
Despite having a great career with the Chicago Bulls, Butler entered the Hall of Fame conversation once he joined the Heat. He has since led the Heat to two NBA Finals appearances in four seasons.
Despite falling to the Denver Nuggets at the end of last season, Butler boosted his reputation. He scored a playoff career-high 56 points in Game 4 of the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks. He also won MVP of the Eastern Conference finals.
Though he’ll likely have a spot in the Hall of Fame, Butler made it known he’s not even interested in attending the event. During an interview with NBA TV before Game 5 of the Finals, Butler said he doesn’t care about the Hall of Fame.
"I'm not worried about the Hall of Fame,” Butler said. “It's an honor, it is, but I could care less.”
